Lead Handyman
Key Purpose
The Lead Handyman will support the “Manager” in a safe, efficient, and professional manner with preventative, corrective, and general maintenance for the Client. Other duties include, but not limited to, daily assessments of systems, maintaining a clean working environment, and other various duties as assigned by the Manager, while adhering to all HS&E standards.
Other duties
- Assists other maintenance personnel with repairs to electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, general facility, and grounds infrastructure
- Provides general laborer support
Success Criteria
- Computer Software: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet Explorer – general experience
- Able to communicate well with customers, managers, and coworkers
- Strong customer service skills
- Competency with basic hand tools
- Competency with basic power tools
- Able to produce a quality work product in a prompt, safe, and efficient manner

Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age
- 3-5 years in Facility Maintenance or related field
- Any trade certificate (desired)
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand and walk at eight-hour intervals with occasional scheduled breaks
- Frequent use arms, hands, and fingers to handle, touch, feel, and reach
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, and hear
- Individual is frequently required to climb stairs and ladders
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 70 pounds, at higher than chest level
- Must be able to tolerate adverse working conditions due to climate and tolerate extreme temperature changes
Work Environment
- Significant work is performed inside central plant space, within mechanical/electrical rooms, and/or on rooftops
- Periodic noise, heat, and cold exposure
- Some confined space work required
- Some work in common office areas
