About the role
Serves as a team leader for the Lodging Guest Reception unit staff by providing day-to-day advice and guidance for work assignments. Passes on to co-workers the instructions received from the supervisor, gets the work started and sets the pace.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates proper work methods, ensures that needed material is available or obtained.
- Checks work while in progress and when finished, ensures that the supervisors instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines have been met.
- Instructs and trains new employees.
- Elevates unresolved employee complaints to supervisor.
- Reports all repair and maintenance requirements according to established policy.
- Reports all violations of safety to immediate supervisor.
- Serves as a team leader for the Lodging Guest Reception unit staff by providing day-to-day advice and guidance for work assignments.
- Passes on to co-workers the instructions received from the supervisor, gets the work started and sets the pace.
- Ensures that only authorized patrons use government-sponsored quarters.
- Calculates and posts charges to patrons accounts and balances totals with control records.
- Accepts payment, makes change, and presents departing guests checkout statements.
- Maintains current checkout list.
- Maintains sundry sales items to patrons.
- Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Ensures required information is received from guest and entered into guest folio.
- Prints backup reports from property management system.
- Ensures housekeeping status of rooms is updated.
- Records and notifies appropriate person/organization of maintenance problems reported by guests.
- Ensures front desk area and lobby remains clean.
- Processes Night Audit procedures and closes credit card machines nightly.
- Maintains the lost and found program.
- Ensures that customer service is the first priority.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
- Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
- Foreign education may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
- Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Direct deposit is required.
- Satisfactory completion of an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- A probationary period may be required.
- Pre-employment requirements must be satisfactorily met prior to Entrance on Duty (EOD).
