LEAD GROUNDSKEEPER

Responsibilities

• Oversight of day-to-day site operations and delegation of work to crew members
• Maintenance of a work schedule and ensuring service expectations are met
• Reporting crew labor time
• Conducting training and development of team members
• Providing updates regarding crew performance to the leader
• Identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency
• Maintaining property grounds
• Ensuring proper maintenance of mowers, blowers, and sprinkler systems
• Performing removal, installation, and maintenance of plant material in beds and containers, and manual weeding
• Carrying out a range of landscape maintenance duties including leaf removal, pruning shrubs and trees, fertilizing, lawn care, and watering
• Aiding in tree relocation
• Removing litter and emptying trash cans
• Cleaning roads, parking lots, and walks to ensure safety of pedestrian and vehicular traffic
• Performing basic carpentry and painting tasks
• Removing ice and snow from walks, roads, and lots, including the application of ice melter and road sand
• Establishing new plants and plantings both in landscape and through greenhouse culture
• Using manual and automatic watering systems to ensure adequate moisture for plantings
• Performing safety checks on equipment and performing preventative equipment maintenance as required
• Maintaining safe work areas during and after work projects
• Cleaning spills as needed, including body fluids

Qualifications

The Landscape Crew Lead maintains property grounds by overseeing a team of groundskeepers performing routine landscaping tasks and performs technical and mechanical repairs and installations related to standard landscaping procedures. This job requires travel.
