Lead Grounds and Facilities Technician
About the Role
As a Lead Grounds and Facilities Technician, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the appearance, safety, and overall upkeep of SKYLAKE Adventures while providing hands-on leadership to the grounds and facilities team. You’ll help coordinate daily work, support landscaping and property maintenance, and ensure outdoor spaces remain clean, safe, and guest-ready. From leading seasonal maintenance and event setup to working alongside the team on day-to-day tasks, your leadership will help create the well-maintained backdrop for unforgettable guest experiences year-round.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily grounds and facilities operations to ensure SKYLAKE Adventures is clean, safe, and visually appealing at all times
- Lead, schedule, and support Grounds and Facilities Technicians, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to standard
- Inspect property areas (beach, walkways, landscaping, common spaces) to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns
- Coordinate and participate in landscaping, cleaning, waste removal, snow and ice removal, snow tubing hill preparation, and other seasonal property maintenance
- Manage setup and breakdown for events, activities, and special functions, ensuring all spaces are prepared on time
- Monitor equipment, tools, and supplies; coordinate repairs, replacements, and inventory needs with the Facilities Manager
- Respond quickly to changing weather, guest flow, or operational needs to maintain a safe and functional environment
- Train and mentor Grounds and Facilities Technicians, promoting strong work habits, safety awareness, and attention to detail
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with SKYLAKE Adventures’ safety and maintenance standards
- Communicate effectively with leadership and other departments to support smooth daily operations
- Lead by example with professionalism, accountability, and a strong team-first attitude
Requirements
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a team
- Hands-on experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, facilities, maintenance, or a related field
- A reliable, organized, and detail-oriented approach to work
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams
- Physically capable of performing manual labor and supporting team needs when required
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred

This position is classified as non-exempt in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws. Employment with SKYLAKE Adventures is at-will. This role requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions, remaining active for extended periods, and working around water-based attractions.
