About the role
This role is ideal for a Lead Full Stack Engineer who wants to drive technical direction without direct people-management responsibilities. You will provide hands-on technical leadership, lead key projects, mentor engineers, and influence architecture while working closely with executive leadership.
This is a 5-day onsite opportunity in Houston, TX, structured as a contract-to-hire position.
Responsibilities
- Modernize existing platforms and build new solutions
- Improve engineering practices within a collaborative team of developers
- Lead key projects and mentor engineers
- Influence architecture decisions
- Work across the full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD, DevOps, test automation, and deployment processes
Tech Breakdown
- 50% Front-end development
- 50% Server-side development
Daily Responsibilities
- 90% Hands-on coding
- 10% Management duties
- 100% Team collaboration
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js
- Must have leadership or team-lead experience
- Recent experience with CI/CD processes and deployment processes
Desired Skills
- Exposure to hardware integrations
- Day-to-day use of AI tools
