About the role
This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement with an initial 3-month term and the potential for month-to-month extensions based on business needs and performance. The role is located at our Dublin, OH campus with hybrid flexibility or may work remotely anywhere in the United States of America. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and business expenses.
What you’ll do (Essential Responsibilities)
- Lead frontend and mobile application architecture using React, React Native, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
- Design and develop scalable, responsive web and mobile applications.
- Partner with backend engineers to define APIs, integrations, and data flows.
- Drive architecture decisions focused on scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Mentor engineers and promote software engineering best practices.
- Champion code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
- Collaborate with Product, UX, Architecture, and Engineering teams to deliver exceptional user experiences.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate.
- Support production troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts.
What you’ll bring (Qualifications)
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, CIS, or a related field.
- Experience: 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong expertise with React, React Native, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
- Experience building scalable web and mobile applications.
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and backend systems.
- Strong understanding of AWS cloud environments and modern application architecture.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or other relational databases.
- Experience with responsive design, accessibility, performance optimization, and component-based architecture.
- Experience with design systems and UI frameworks such as Material UI or Ant Design.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps best practices.
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineers.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
