Lead Food Service Worker S04, Cornell Dining - Multiple Positions Available
About the role
The SO-04 Lead Food Service Worker plays a crucial role within Cornell Dining, supporting the mission of nourishing the future. This position involves serving as a role model, assisting with food preparation, delivery, and presentation, coordinating work assignments, and ensuring operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Interact directly with customers and serve as a role model for other staff members.
- Assist with the coordination of work assignments, including preparing, presenting, and/or serving various food items at different stations.
- Process sales transactions, ensuring security procedures are followed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organize assigned areas.
- Ensure portion control and assist in maintaining production sheets.
- Maintain sanitary and HACCP standards, including adherence to temperature and safety protocols.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of relevant experience in food service, barista, or cash handling.
- Basic proficiency in English, including reading, writing, math, and verbal communication.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and perform tasks requiring reaching, standing, squatting, bending, and repetitive motions.
- Comfortable with temperature changes, environmental impacts, and kitchen equipment.
- Proficient in knife skills and able to demonstrate these skills during the interview process.
Qualifications
- Additional education and experience preferred, including higher education food service or related restaurant experience.
- Knowledge of proper sanitation and HACCP procedures helpful.
- ServSafe Certification preferred.

Pay
