Lead Food Service Supervisor

The Food Service Supervisor performs a variety of kitchen duties and instructs inmate labor in the preparation and serving of correctional facility meals according to departmental work production standards, standardized recipes, and work instructions. Note: Supervisory duties relate to supervising inmate labor.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepares, assists, or instructs inmate labor/team members in preparing a variety of food items according to departmental work production standards, standardized recipes, and institution work instructions.
• Handles production and sanitation paperwork to ensure compliance with facility procedures.
• Ensures cleaning and maintenance of all food service equipment and work areas; confirms proper safety and sanitation practices are followed.
• Follows prescribed institution requirements for preparation, oversight, and serving of correctional facility meals.
• Adheres to assigned institution housekeeping and safety practices.
• Stores food and supplies according to instructions.
• Performs in high-volume food production facilities preparing food for large groups.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 1 year or more of experience working in a food service role.
• Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Schedule

Must have open availability for weekdays and weekends, 12 PM - 8 PM.
