Schedule

On-site position inside a jail/correctional facility. Must have open availability to work between the hours of 4:00 am – 7:00 pm, including some weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor/team members in the preparation of a variety of food items following departmental work production standards, standardized recipes, and institution work instructions
• Handle production paperwork and/or sanitation paperwork essential to comply with facility procedures
• Complete cleaning and maintenance of all food service equipment and work areas; follow proper safety and sanitation practices
• Follow prescribed institution requirements in all preparation, oversight, and serving of correctional facility meals
• Follow assigned institution housekeeping and safety practices as instructed
• Store food and supplies following instructions
• Perform in high-volume food production facilities preparing food for large groups
• Other responsibilities as determined by operational needs

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• 1 year or more of experience working in a food service role
• Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
