Lead Floor Technician- 3rd Shift

Typical Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sweep, mop, and wash floors, and other surfaces.
  • Use light and heavy (commercial type) floor (buffers) and shampoo machines including attachments.
  • Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas.
  • Spot clean daily and shampoo when directed.
  • Monitors possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and reports to supervisors.
  • Performs periodic work: strip and refinish VCT, extract carpet, top scrub and recoat VCT, operate rider scrubber in plant area.
  • Training all appropriate personnel on sanitation procedures.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains sanitation procedures and programs for areas assigned.
  • Develops and implements sanitation SOPs and specific training for sanitation.
  • Reviews sanitary procedures and recommends or changes as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience as a floor care technician.
  • Experience supervising three or more workers.
  • Must be able to direct, delegate, and assign tasks to janitorial and sanitation employees.
  • Must be able to take direction, and to function cooperatively as part of a team.
  • Able to use cleaning tools and equipment.
  • Able to use floor buffer, floor burnisher, rider scrubber, auto-scrubber, carpet spotter, carpet extractor, floor cleaning and finishing equipment.
  • Requires attention to detail, a pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Qualifications

Candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check, including criminal history.
