Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Affords assistance in the repair of fire alarm equipment on campus.
- Maintains compliance with fire alarm and fire protection systems codes.
- Affords assistance in testing and servicing fire protection and fire alarm systems on campus.
- Collaborates with building managers, third-party inspectors, and relevant campus departments.
- Reviews new construction and renovation plans and specifications for fire alarm quality control.
- Affords technical support and assists contractors with installation and removal of fire alarm and fire protection equipment.
- Supports campus safety departments with fire alarm and fire protection systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of fire alarm equipment and Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACP).
- Knowledge of basic office computer software such as Microsoft Office.
- Skills in computerized equipment and control systems such as Simplex fire system environment, Siemens fire system environment, and ALC WebCntl (Automated Logic Corporation web-based building automation system).
- Skills in written and verbal communications.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to use meters to measure volts, amps, ohms, along with tools associated with electronic repairs.
Minimum Education & Experience
- Associate's degree in related field.
- 6 years of relevant experience.
