Lead Financial Analyst

About the role

The Lead, Financial Planning and Analytics is responsible for overseeing the financial planning and analysis functions of the organization. This role will lead a team in providing strategic financial insights, forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis to drive business decisions. The individual will be a key partner to senior leadership, ensuring the financial health and success of the company by delivering timely, accurate, and actionable financial information.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Financial Planning: Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, including long-term financial planning. Provide detailed analysis of financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying areas of concern and opportunity. Develop and manage financial models and scenarios to support business strategies.
• Reporting & Analysis: Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and variance analyses for senior leadership and stakeholders. Interpret financial data, providing actionable insights to support business decisions and optimize performance. Monitor key financial and operational metrics and drive improvements where necessary.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a team of financial analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Ensure the team has the necessary skills, tools, and resources to deliver high-quality financial analysis. Oversee team workflows, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards.
• Business Partnership & Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, Sales, Marketing) to understand business drivers and provide financial insights. Present financial results and insights to senior management, explaining complex financial data in a clear and understandable manner. Support the strategic decision-making process by providing financial evaluations, scenario analyses, and recommendations.
• Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvements in financial planning processes and tools. Identify opportunities for automation and streamlining of financial reporting and analysis. Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Ad Hoc Analysis & Projects: Lead special projects, financial modeling, and data analysis as needed by the business. Support mergers, acquisitions, investments, or other strategic initiatives with financial due diligence and analysis.
