Lead Field Service Technician

Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of Building Automation and Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues remotely and on-site to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to field service technicians.
  • Collaborate with customers, contractors, and cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Conduct system testing, inspections, preventive maintenance, and performance verification activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, NFPA codes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, reports, and project records.
  • Lead field service projects, prioritize multiple tasks, and ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Conduct customer training on system operation, maintenance, and best practices.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement field service best practices.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and advancements in BAS and fire/life safety systems.

Qualifications

  • Must have 5+ years of experience installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and commissioning Building Automation Systems (BAS), Fire Alarm Systems, or related building technologies.
  • Must have 5+ years of hands-on experience with BAS and integrated fire/life safety systems, including maintenance, repair, system upgrades, and technical support.
  • Must have 5+ years of experience interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, specifications, and applicable regulatory codes.
  • Must have 5+ years of experience leading field service activities, installation projects, technical teams, or customer-facing service operations.
  • Must have 5+ years of experience managing multiple service calls, projects, or priorities in a fast-paced field service environment.
  • Must have 5+ years of experience providing customer support, technical guidance, and resolving complex system issues both remotely and on-site.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable building automation, fire alarm, life safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with customers, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
  • We value NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Experience with Honeywell XLS3000 and other fire alarm/life safety platforms.
  • Knowledge of NFPA codes, standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience leading installation, retrofit, or modernization projects.
  • Demonstrated success driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Continuous learning mindset with a commitment to staying current on industry technologies and best practices.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Fire Protection, Building Automation, or a related technical field.
