Lead Field Service Specialist - Automated NDE
About the role
The Lead Services Specialist - Automated NDE is part of the GE Hitachi Nuclear Inspection team and works to inspect nuclear power plants around the world during our customers' refueling outages. Our team deploys a variety of manual and robotic inspection techniques to fit our customers' dose reduction and schedule goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction and guidance to the GEH inspection teams.
- Review and analyze automated and manual data with the utmost integrity and strict procedure use and adherence.
- Provide technical justification to customers, and regularly interface with site Level III's.
- Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development.
- Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
- Has knowledge of best practices and is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
- Uses technical experience and analytical thinking to make calls based on best judgement.
- Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
- May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements.
- Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.
- Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Requirements
- High school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in automated NDE as a Data Analyst.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% to domestically and internationally plant sites.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb 10 flights of stairs twice per day.
- Ability to pass respirator fit test and physical.
- Ability to pass Fitness for Duty requirements and site security requirements to obtain unescorted access.
- Ability to work under high stress conditions.
- Ability and willingness to work in radiation-controlled and radioactively contaminated areas.
- Ability and willingness to work 12 hrs./day and 7 days/week when needed for project delivery.

Pay
The pay range for this position is between $78,800.00 and $131,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Schedule
This role primarily focuses on filling roles as an automated NDE Data Analyst, Project Level III, and/or automated operator. This role involves planning inspection scopes, verifying procedure use and adherence, analyzing automated and manual UT data, and creating UT data reports. The person in this role will work to prepare inspection techniques, procedures, and inspection schedules prior to nuclear power plant outage inspections. This role involves evaluating and documenting performance issues at inspections and working in the off season to improve the tooling and procedures to correct the issues identified.
Location
The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters Wilmington, NC but highly qualified remote candidates will be considered.
