About the role
Eaton’s Critical Power Solutions (CPS) Division is currently seeking a Lead Field Service Electronics Technician to join our team of world-class customer service professionals. This position is based in the greater Manassas VA area. This is a remote position based from a home office with daily travel to customer sites and occasional overnight stays. Eaton’s Critical Power Solutions Division delivers the confidence of uninterrupted power when it matters most. We design and manufacture advanced UPS systems, batteries, and power distribution solutions that keep businesses running in the most demanding environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site support, offering emergency repairs, start-up services, and preventative maintenance to ensure peak performance and reliability.
- Partner with customers as trusted advisors, delivering innovative solutions and technical expertise that safeguard operations and maximize uptime.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Two (2) years of power systems, battery technologies and/or electronics experience including relevant coursework and internship experience.
- This role is designated as a Regular Driver per Eaton’s Driver Safety Policy and requires a current, unrestricted driver’s license along with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.
- Candidates will be subject to a motor vehicle record check upon hire.
- Must undergo and pass customer entrance requirements as needed, which may include, but is not limited to, periodic background checks and drug screenings.
- Daily travel to customer sites is required, utilizing an Eaton-provided fleet vehicle.
- Support for customer needs outside the immediate region within the USA for a minimum of three (3) weeks per quarter.
- Must perform physical tasks as needed, including assisted lifting/carrying 50+ lbs., pushing/pulling, standing for extended periods, climbing, squatting, bending, kneeling, and driving long distances.
Skills
- Associate’s degree in electrical or electronics from an accredited institution, current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree engineering program at an accredited institution or applicable military training and experience.
- Three (3)+ years experience working with power systems, battery technologies and/or electronics.
- Electrical Technology Certificate.
- Ability to read electrical component schematic drawings and apply troubleshooting, testing, and repair techniques.
- Strong understanding of electrical theory, battery systems, and single- and three-phase circuits.
Pay
The expected annual salary range for this role is $82,000 - $121,000 a year. Overtime eligible.
