Key Responsibilities

  • Support statewide development and implementation of youth and family peer support services.
  • Aid in creating guidance, tools, and resources that promote consistent, high-quality peer support across counties and organizations.
  • Provide technical assistance to help communities overcome implementation challenges and align services with best practices.
  • Collaborate with county boards, providers, peer-run organizations, and system partners to strengthen local capacity.

Workforce Development and Training

  • Create and update training materials and tools that support peer supporters, including those using WRAP, Recovery Plans, Whole Health and Wellness Plans, and Crisis Response Plans.
  • Deliver training, coaching, and learning communities to build workforce skills and consistency.
  • Support peer supporters in applying person-centered and recovery-focused planning approaches.

Certification and Workforce Standards

  • Review and process Ohio youth and family peer support certification and renewal applications in the eLicense system.
  • Afford assistance with ethical complaint review and follow standard procedures for resolution.
  • Offer timely and accurate customer service to peers, families, and partners regarding certification and workforce standards.

Outreach and Partner Engagement

  • Represent the agency at meetings, workgroups, and community events to promote awareness of peer support and recovery services.
  • Enhance relationships with local governments, provider networks, and peer-run and family organizations.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accessible public-facing materials and resources.

Data and Continuous Improvement

  • Use data and feedback to assess program impact, identify barriers, and recommend improvements.
  • Support local communities with data collection needs for evidence-based practices.

Grant and Administrative Support

  • Review grant applications and monitor grantee progress to ensure accountability for deliverables.
  • Support cross-agency initiatives and special projects that further develop peer support infrastructure.
