Lead Fabricator

Major Tasks, Responsibilities And Key Accountabilities

• Examines specifications of the customer’s order using drawings, work orders, or blueprints to determine the characteristics of the finished item, materials to be used, and machine setup requirements.
• Fabricates work piece as determined by work order specifications.
• Retrieves correct materials and performs various fabrication duties.
• Examines work piece visually, by touch, or using tape rule, calipers, or gauges to ensure quality control standards are met.
• Solves issues related to production, machinery, processing, and/or packaging operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with fabrication shop equipment.
• Metal working experience.
• Ability to professionally lead staff by example and handle light supervisory duties.
• Familiar with training and coaching techniques.
• Ability to change or adapt work practices, priorities, or procedures.
• Ability to think and take constructive action in work-related matters.
• Interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work with others in a group, cooperate with others, offer to help when needed, and foster a team climate within the group where members are committed to a common goal.
• Time management and organization skills.
• Knowledge of HDPE butt fusion and fabrication.

Career Level Dimensions

• Typical Training/Experience: HS Diploma or GED, strongly preferred. 4-6 years of experience in area of responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older.
• Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable.

Environmental Job Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs in a physical environment.
