Lead Event Specialist Part Time
About the role
The Associate is responsible for completing in-store food and non-food demonstrations. They acquire and maintain knowledge of products represented, serve, demonstrate, intercept consumers, and sell products professionally. They manage and maintain event execution equipment, communicate with store management during absence of the Supervisor, assist with event kits, materials, and tools, provide leadership and knowledge to the team, and assist the Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain event equipment and supplies to ensure cleanliness and secure placement in the agreed-upon area of the backroom.
- Communicate with store management regarding upcoming and past events when the Supervisor is absent.
- Be the point person for all events conducted in the store when the Supervisor is absent.
- Aid other Event Specialists with event kits, materials, and tools as needed.
- Provide leadership and knowledge to the team, assisting the Supervisor in all job responsibilities.
- Possess the ability to gain adequate knowledge of the products represented and proactively engage, interact, and sell products to consumers.
- Assist with preparing and serving food samples, including raw meats, produce, and eggs, while adhering to food safety guidelines.
- Prepare and set up the Event Table for execution.
- Complete all work assigned, assist with preparation for client visits, and complete audit corrections.
- Build and maintain rapport with store personnel to meet company and client objectives.
- Prepare and submit all on-line requirements on the same day as Event execution and take digital photos of the Perfect Table Setup for documentation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient ability to use and navigate on a personal computer and personal mobile device using applications and internal systems.
- Food Safety Professional Certification, and local food handlers permit if required.
Physical Demands
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, read instructions, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb (including use of a 6' ladder), balance, lift and carry up to 25 pounds, push and pull a wheeled demonstration cart fully laden with appliances, supplies, and product.
- Prepare foods using raw products (e.g., meats, poultry), using cooking utensils such as knives, convection oven, coffee maker, electric fryer, microwaves.
- Be in contact with cleaning supplies.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Point of contact when Supervisor is absent.
Working Conditions
- Retail store environment with limited travel.
Physical Appearance
- Ensure a professional appearance and proper grooming.
Language Skills
- English is the primary language skill; however, bilingual skills may be required based on business necessity.
