Lead Event Specialist Part Time
About the role
The Associate is responsible for completing in-store food and non-food demonstrations. They acquire and maintain knowledge of products represented, serve, demonstrate, intercept consumers, and sell products professionally. They manage and maintain event execution equipment, communicate with store management during absence of the Supervisor, assist other Event Specialists, provide leadership, and possess the ability to gain adequate knowledge of products.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain event equipment and supplies to ensure cleanliness and secure placement in the agreed-upon area of the backroom.
- Communicate with store management regarding upcoming and past events when the Supervisor is absent.
- Act as the point person for all events conducted in the store when the Supervisor is absent.
- Aid other Event Specialists with event kits, materials, and tools as needed.
- Provide leadership and knowledge to the team, assisting the Supervisor in fulfilling job responsibilities.
- Possess the aptitude and ability to gain adequate knowledge of the products represented.
- Proactively intercept, engage, interact, and sell products to consumers in a positive manner.
- Assist in performing all job responsibilities assigned to the demo program.
- Prepare and serve food samples, including raw meats, produce, and eggs, while adhering to food safety guidelines.
- Prepare and serve food samples using small appliances like microwaves, fryers, skillets, coffee makers, and knives.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and safe work station using cleaning chemicals.
- Ensure a professional appearance consistent with the requirements of the job.
- Set up and prepare the Event Table for execution.
- Complete all work assigned.
- Assist with preparation for client visits and complete audit corrections.
- Build and maintain rapport with store personnel to meet company and client objectives.
- Prepare and submit all on-line requirements on the same day as Event execution.
- Take digital photos of the Perfect Table Setup to document success stories for clients.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient ability to use and navigate on a personal computer and personal mobile device using applications and internal systems.
- Food Safety Professional Certification, local food handlers permit if required.
Physical Demands
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, read instructions, perform responsibilities, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb (including use of a 6' ladder), balance, lift and carry up to 25 pounds, push and pull a wheeled demonstration cart fully laden with appliances, supplies, and product, prepare foods using raw products (e.g., meats, poultry), using cooking utensils such as knives, convection oven, coffee maker, electric fryer, microwave.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Point of contact when Supervisor is absent.
Working Conditions
Retail store environment with limited travel.
Physical Appearance
Individuals must ensure a professional appearance and proper grooming is in order. The associate must present a neat, clean, and appropriately groomed appearance.
Language Skills
English is the primary language skill; however, bilingual skills may be required based on business necessity.
