About the role

GHD is seeking a Lead Environmental Engineer/Technical Director with a specialization in contaminated sites to support their Central region. The ideal candidate will have wide and deep experience providing expert competence and managerial experience supervising and directing people and other resources.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, plan, and perform engineering duties in the prevention, control, and remediation of environmental hazards using various engineering disciplines.
  • Lead complex investigations, design solutions, and support construction for environmental remediation projects.
  • Develop strategies and deliver innovative, client-focused solutions to US Federal and private sector clients.
  • Needs Assessment: Identify emerging issues, barriers, and key stakeholders to inform project decisions.
  • Improvement/Innovation: Suggest and implement improvements in practices, processes, or project delivery.
  • Culture of Innovation: Drive multi-stakeholder solutions that foster creativity, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Engineering Solutions Design: Design engineering solutions and validation processes that meet organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Draft and evaluate engineering standards and specifications to ensure work quality.
  • Capture and share best practices and lessons learned across projects.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members to support professional development.
  • Manage projects, including budgets, timelines, deliverables, and portfolios.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to support process or project decisions.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment: Monitor HSE performance and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively and produce high-quality reports.
  • Take initiative and work collaboratively as a self-starter.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related field) required. Current PE, or the ability to obtain registration within 6 months.

Qualifications

  • Wide and deep experience providing expert competence (Over 10 years to 15 years).
  • Experience of supervising and directing people and other resources to achieve specific end results within limited timeframes (13 months to 3 years).

Skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools.

Pay

$124,080.00 - $206,800.00, varies based on location and experience.

Schedule

Hybrid model, combining in-office collaboration and flexibility. Three days a week in the office.
