Lead Enterprise Platform Solution Architect
About the role
The Lead Enterprise Platform Engineering Solution Architect provides technical leadership to cross-functional teams in designing and implementing comprehensive system and product architectures that integrate with Sherwin-Williams’ overall digital technology infrastructure and support key business objectives.
This position is located at our Cleveland Headquarters office and is not hybrid or remote. The role is not eligible for work authorization sponsorship now or in the future, including conversion to H1-B visa.
A criminal history review is required due to access to confidential and proprietary information.
Must be eighteen years or older.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance in designing and implementing highly complex, integrated frameworks, tech-stacks, systems, and platforms that align with and drive the organization's IT strategy and business objectives.
- Lead and oversee the entire process of developing application components and integrations, ensuring all solutions align with business objectives, enterprise architecture, and performance goals.
- Develop and implement best practices and standards for processes and technical specifications related to hardware and software compatibility, system interfaces, and business application prototypes.
- Continuously research and analyze industry trends and emerging technologies to inform architectural decisions.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with cross-functional teams, including software developers, business analysts, enterprise architects, and product managers to ensure the successful adoption of industry-leading design and architecture practices.
- Provide strategic direction on the development of architectural frameworks, patterns, and standards used across multiple products or systems.
- Offer technical expertise in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of next-generation technical initiatives, while also providing guidance as complex technology issues arise.
- Lead the technical evaluation of new solutions to ensure alignment with existing frameworks and standards defined across the organization.
- Champion and guide the extended team to adopt and implement leading-edge design and architecture practices.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration among a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure that product and solution design align with architectural principles, policies, standards, and frameworks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or at least 9 years of experience in IT in lieu of a degree.
- 6+ years of experience in IT or a solution architecture role.
- Proven experience in designing complex hardware and software solutions for large-scale IT systems.
- Expertise in collaborating, communicating, and presenting with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact business solutions.
- Extensive knowledge of modern architectural patterns, frameworks, and industry best practices.
- Expertise with cloud computing, data center operations, network design, and security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to innovate and think creatively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expert-level architecture certification (e.g., TOGAF, CISSP).
- 6+ years of experience in driving and delivering solution architecture for large-scale Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like Oracle Cloud Fusion Applications, Oracle EBS, NetSuite, SAP, or Infor.
- Adept in developing and implementing solutions using microservices architecture and cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
