About the role
Lead Engineering Technologist to serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Generating Station Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for operations, maintenance, and projects for multiple generation technologies across multiple geographic regions.
- Provide technical expertise to solve complex problems.
- Utilize the leadership skills necessary to support others in technical areas of specialization, with minimal supervision and increased latitude for un-reviewed work.
- Coordinate communication with external DCS OEM support groups.
- Coordinate communication of fleet level guidance to internal station and regional DCS support personnel.
- Act as owner of fleet level standards, practices, and procedures.
Requirements
- Either 6+ years of relevant industry experience coupled with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or 8+ years of experience and Associate Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or 10+ years equivalent experience without a degree.
- Skilled in engineering theories and principles.
- Skilled in the practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Skilled in principles of project management.
- Experience in the utility industry.
- Experience with design, construction, commissioning, and/or process engineering support for generation facilities.
- Experience with utility industry process control and automation equipment.
- Experience with specific DCS manufacturers' equipment: Emerson Ovation, Siemens T3000, GE Mark VIe.
Qualifications
