About the Role

Manage a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff on water resource projects from planning through design and construction. Lead engineers must manage projects independently, collaborate on design, and mentor team members. Typically report to a sector leader or principal.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional engineering services, including studies, planning, design, specifications, reports, construction observation, and project management.
  • Communicate with clients, supervisors, and team members regularly, providing updates and progress updates.
  • Attend company, project, and client meetings.
  • Lead proposal preparation and participate in securing firm work.
  • Think independently and make rational judgments.
  • Work with engineering technicians and team members on project plans and specifications.
  • Collaborate with other engineering departments on complex multi-discipline projects.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Work independently and in a team environment.
  • Participate in professional organizations and community leadership programs.
  • Travel and work overtime during the construction season.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required.
  • Professional Engineers License preferred or ability to be licensed within 6-12 months required.
  • 5-15 Years of experience in water resources and storm water management.
  • Strong project management and construction management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Flexible working style and willingness to modify schedules.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows/Office products.
  • Experience in watershed modeling, storm water collection system design, pump station design, equipment sizing, and preparing civil design drawings.
  • AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar CADD-based civil design software experience is a plus.
  • A valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and operate a computer under normal ergonomic office conditions.
  • Required to work in an outdoor environment during the construction season.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must work scheduled and required hours.
  • Required to lift objects or containers weighing up to 50 lbs.

Pay

Base Salary Pay Range: $95k - $130k (Actual base pay dependent on experience, education, licensure, job location, and internal equity.)
