Lead Engineer, Product
About the role
The Lead Product Engineer utilizes advanced tools in problem solving and project management to solve technical issues. This role is responsible for providing product engineering support for existing Aeroquip Fluid Conveyance Products. This includes leading RPS, Technical Support, Cost Out, Product Dispositions, Product Reliability, Product Liability and Competitive Product Analysis. The Lead Engineer has demonstrated use of their unique skills, has a track record of multiple large-scale project successes, has worked internationally (significant projects or physical location), and is recognized within the organization as an expert in multiple products and processes.
Responsibilities
- Display a proficient application of core Engineering tools/principles, industry best practices and recognition for technical expertise
- Demonstrate consistent use of advanced technical principles while mentoring other engineers
- Demonstrate proficiency in advanced problem‑solving techniques
- Clearly direct and aid in the development of cross‑functional team members
- Determine the critical aspects to monitor and maintain throughout key projects
- Demonstrate effective communication with peers and management
- Ability to layout multiple large‑scale projects and drive them to closure with poise and self‑reliance
- Expert in designing products, developing test plans, analyzing test data against performance criteria, writing conclusive reports, and acting as technical and/or project leader between all functions of the organization
- Up to 10% domestic and international travel may be required to support project activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials or other Engineering from an accredited institution
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
- Must be within 50 miles of the Van Wert, OH; Maumee, OH; or Mountain Home, AR facility. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in product engineering or manufacturing engineering
- Preferred: Minimum 10 years’ experience in product engineering or manufacturing engineering
- Preferred: Minimum 10 years’ experience in hydraulics products/systems
- Ability to confidently and clearly communicate to all levels of the organization
- Ability to clearly direct general activities when leading a cross‑functional team
