Lead Engineer - Platform

For our client, we are seeking a Lead Engineer - Platform to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space. This role will drive platform architecture and technical direction for AI and enterprise cloud capabilities in a federal environment. The ideal candidate will partner across cloud services, security, and application teams to design scalable, secure solutions that support mission-critical outcomes. You will also provide options analysis and technical leadership to ensure cohesive implementation across the platform ecosystem. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $114,600 – $252,100 annually Responsibilities Lead architecture and implementation of AI platform capabilities for a federal oversight organization Design secure connection patterns between Azure Government and Azure Commercial services Provide technical leadership for enterprise data platforms and AI infrastructure Conduct technical options analysis and feasibility assessments for platform enhancements Coordinate technical decisions across AI applications and cloud services to ensure cohesive architecture Design cloud infrastructure for AI applications and enterprise capabilities Support secure access controls and compliance validation for platform services Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 15 years of experience in cloud architecture or related field; Master's degree with 12 years of experience or associate degree with 17 years of experience also accepted Demonstrated technical leadership in architecting and delivering enterprise-scale cloud platforms Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure services including compute, storage, networking, identity, and AI services Experience in designing secure architectures for federal cloud environments, especially Azure Government Strong background in platform security, identity management, API design, and microservices architectures Benefits Comprehensive healthcare and wellness programs Retirement plans and financial benefits Family support options available Opportunities for continuing education and professional development Generous time-off benefits Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
