Lead Engineer, Cloud Platform - Azure (Hybrid)
About the role
The Lead Platform Engineer, Cloud plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable cloud solutions with robust governance, networking, and automation frameworks. This position drives infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and cost optimization, ensuring compliance, performance, and operational excellence across Eversource cloud environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement Azure Landing Zone hub-and-spoke topology, management groups, subscription design, tagging strategy, and cost management including budgets and landing zone accelerators.
- Apply governance controls using Azure Policy, RBAC, and identity governance with Azure AD and conditional access.
- Architect secure and scalable networks leveraging Azure Virtual WAN (VWAN), Virtual Network Manager, IP address management, and Network Virtual Appliances (NVAs) with firewall integration.
- Manage ER/VPN connectivity, DNS, and firewall configurations.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, and Harness for automated provisioning and configuration.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud deployments.
- Configure centralized logging and monitoring with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics; troubleshoot and optimize performance.
- Utilize GitHub and JFrog Artifactory for source control and artifact management.
- Develop automation scripts using Bash, PowerShell, and Python.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage project timelines.
Requirements
- Minimum of eight (8) to ten (10) years in a technical engineering role or related experience working with technology or application solutions, including experience in architecture, design, implementation, support, and management of the technologies appropriate for the specific positions.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related technical discipline or related experience.
- Advanced degree desirable.
Qualifications
- Experience with Azure Landing Zone, Azure Policy, RBAC, Azure AD.
- Experience with Azure Virtual WAN (VWAN), Virtual Network Manager, IP address management, and Network Virtual Appliances (NVAs).
- Experience with ER/VPN, DNS, and firewall configurations.
- Experience with Harness, Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, and Python.
- Experience with source control and artifact management tools like GitHub and JFrog Artifactory.
- Experience with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics for monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Experience with DevSecOps principles and practices.

Salary is commensurate with your experience.
Schedule
This role may involve a hybrid schedule, with a minimum requirement of working at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. Employees may be required to work up to five days in the office if needed for emergencies, training, or other business needs, or if the policy changes.
