Position Responsibilities

  • Perform design, analysis, and integration activities for technology and design integration of EO/IR design practices into advanced platforms
  • Affiliate with developing and documenting requirements for electromagnetic systems and components
  • Generate design influence initiatives and direct design trade studies that may result from those initiatives
  • Work with suppliers and customers (internal and external) to ensure compliance, verification, and validation with technical requirements
  • Support and execute test plans and validation activities (lab and range) to verify performance and support correlation between simulation and measurement
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (structures, propulsion, materials, flight test, systems engineering, producibility) to ensure integrated solutions meet performance, manufacturing, and maintainability needs
  • Support technical documentation, specifications, design packages, and presentations for internal and customer review
  • Provide support to products throughout their lifecycle
  • Support development of proposals to support development of new business

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 12+ years of EO/IR signature analyst engineering experience
  • 3+ years of EO/IR design experience using photometric or radiometric requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in applicable field
  • Signature management experience
  • Optical engineering design background
  • Experience in modeling and simulation of EO/IR performance characterization
  • Experience with lab or field testing of EO/IR designs or systems to validate or measure photometric or radiometric performance
  • Experience correlating performance predictions with laboratory and measurement data
  • Familiarity with materials processing, application methods, environmental durability, and repair/maintenance impacts of configurations
  • Experience with CAD tools and model preparation for electromagnetic simulations
  • Strong technical communication skills, including written reports and oral presentations
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple tasks to meet program schedules
