LEAD ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

About the role

The Senior Lead Electrical Engineer provides technical leadership for the electrical engineering discipline on capital, maintenance, and turnaround projects within the petrochemical, refining, and oil & gas industries. This role oversees electrical engineering design, ensures quality and compliance, coordinates multidisciplinary project teams, mentors junior engineers, and serves as the primary electrical engineering contact for clients. The position supports projects from concept through construction with a focus on safety, quality, schedule, and budget performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the design and development of electrical systems and components.
• Review and approve electrical drawings, calculations, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to meet project goals.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical engineering issues.
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, and cost control efforts.
• Support field activities, including installation, commissioning, and inspections.
• Conduct design reviews and risk assessments for electrical systems.

Requirements

• 12+ years of electrical engineering experience in petrochemical, refining, LNG, or oil & gas, including leadership responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Experience in ETAP and strong knowledge of current codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, etc.).
• Previous experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including brownfield and greenfield facilities.

Physical Requirements
