Jedson Engineering is an Engineering Consultancy headquartered in Cincinnati, OH. We provide full-service engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) services and are in a significant growth mode.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, analysis, and specification of power distribution systems for facility modifications and complex EPC contracts.
- Develop technical recommendations from transient overvoltage, insulation coordination, system stability, and protection studies during project development, detailed engineering, and commissioning phases.
- Apply power system analysis tools to utility-scale power generation facilities, generator interconnections, substations, and industrial power distribution systems.
- Lead and review PSCAD and ETAP studies supporting utility-scale gas generation, renewable generation, battery energy storage (BESS), and industrial power projects.
- Proficient in PSCAD for electromagnetic transient studies, transient overvoltage analysis, switching surge evaluation, and insulation coordination of medium and high-voltage electrical systems.
- Proficient in ETAP Grid and Cable Systems modules for load flow, short-circuit, protective relay coordination, transient stability, arc flash, and cable ampacity studies.
- Strong understanding of IEEE, IEC, and utility requirements related to power system performance, protection, and insulation coordination.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to lead and review PSCAD and ETAP studies supporting utility-scale gas generation, renewable generation, battery energy storage (BESS), and industrial power projects.
- Experience developing technical recommendations from transient overvoltage, insulation coordination, system stability, and protection studies during project development, detailed engineering, and commissioning phases.
- Experience applying power system analysis tools to utility-scale power generation facilities, generator interconnections, substations, and industrial power distribution systems.
- Strong understanding of IEEE, IEC, and utility requirements related to power system performance, protection, and insulation coordination.
- Experience with design/installation of distribution equipment, with experience in consulting engineering and construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NEC, ANSI, NEMA, NFPA).
- Well organized with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and operate within budgets.
- Work directly with client engineers and maintenance teams on onsite plant projects with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience.
- PE license or EIT certificate with ability to obtain PE license is preferred but not required.
