Who We're Looking For

You’ll join a team that has already proven what others said wasn’t feasible and is now scaling and upgrading our VLEO buses & payloads to serve mission sets across sensing, communications, and responsive operations.

Technical Lead for Power and Analog Electrical Engineering

  • Own electrical architecture across programs (EPS, bus regulation, battery management, isolated supplies, analog signal chains, and board- and box-level electrical design)

  • Set EE technical direction alongside engineering management

  • Drive the next generation of what our electronics can do

  • Lead through architecture, design review, and mentoring

  • Delegating the day-to-day design work to other engineers

  • Leading hands-on design work as time allows

What You'll Be Doing

  • Advance hardware to increase satellite longevity

  • Scale production for large constellations

  • Build next-gen flight and ground software to push performance

  • Enable missions that matter for national security and our day-to-day life here on earth

What You'll Need

  • 10+ years of electrical-engineering experience

  • BSEE required (MSEE preferred)

  • Extensive end-to-end hardware-design experience: multiple designs taken from concept through production

  • Deep power and analog expertise: DC/DC (buck / boost / flyback), battery management, bus regulation, isolated supplies, analog signal-chain and mixed-signal design; first-principles thermal, transient, and efficiency analysis

  • High-voltage DC power design, including isolation, protection, and creepage/clearance discipline

  • Solid grasp of digital architecture: enough to partner on the electrical interfaces and mixed-signal boundaries to FPGA / avionics and flight software

  • Schematic capture AND PCB layout on complex multi-layer designs, plus a working command of signal integrity and power integrity (controlled impedance, return paths, stackup, decoupling), and the judgment to review others' designs

  • EMI/EMC understanding: design for electromagnetic compatibility, grounding, shielding, filtering, and control of conducted/radiated emissions

  • Strong lab / hands-on skills: power measurement, standard bench instruments, board bring-up and debug

  • Track record of setting technical direction and mentoring other engineers

  • Holds designs to the standard and gates reviews before release

  • A working understanding of the space environment and what radiation does to ICs (TID and single-event effects / SEE: SEU / SEL / SET) and how that drives part selection, derating, and design margin

  • Experience flying COTS parts in space: using commercial parts in the radiation environment safely (rad-tolerance by design, upscreening / lot testing, architecture-level mitigation) instead of defaulting to expensive rad-hard, and knowing when a rad-hard part is genuinely required

  • Space / avionics rigor: parts derating and stress analysis, reliability, design margin for flight electronics

  • Works cross-functionally with FPGA / avionics, flight software, mechanical / thermal, and systems teams

  • Supports proposals when needed: EE/power architecture concepts, power budgets, compliance-matrix input, and rough BOM/cost for new-business responses

  • A push-the-envelope mindset: always looking for new, cheaper, faster, more-reliable ways to build exquisite capability at a fraction of the cost

What We Offer

  • Employee friendly equity compensation

  • 4% direct matching 401k

  • Health Insurance: 100% employee coverage & 75% dependent coverage

  • Parental leave and childcare coverage

  • Flexible vacation and sick time from day one

  • 12 company holidays

  • $100 monthly wellness benefit

  • Relocation package if not based in Denver

Additional Requirements

  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

  • All persons hired will be required to be a U.S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

  • Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled: Albedo is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
