Core Job Responsibilities
- Supervise daily activities and lead a project execution team
- Responsible for scope, quality of work, schedule, budgets and execution planning
- Identify scope changes and coordinate change management
- Specify power distribution systems for industrial projects from 120V up through 35kV
- Support the development of one-line diagrams, data sheets, load lists, motor schematics, hazardous area classification requirements and facilitate engineering deliverables for design package issuance
- Validate equipment ratings and conduct calculations such as cable-sizing and load evaluations
- Specify electrical equipment and follow through from RFQ development through PO award
- Manage the cost and time constraints of multiple projects at one time
- Prepare and maintain all safety and environmental aspects of a project
- Work within company policy as outlined in the H+M Employee Handbook as well as the H+M Safety Manual and OSHA Safety rules
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of in-depth experience in engineering design and construction within the petrochemical industries
- Texas Professional Engineer License is preferred
- Relevant EPC company experience
- Strong knowledge of power system studies including load flow, short circuit, motor-starting analysis, relay coordination, and arc flash evaluations using ETAP and/or PowerTools SKM software
- Familiarity with current industrial codes (API, NEMA, IEEE, PIP, NEC)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microstation, and SmartPlant Electrical is a plus
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and capable of establishing respect and credibility through actions, communications, understanding and personal presence
- Ability to work with others to achieve job goals
Physical Requirements
- Occasionally lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Sit for long periods of time
- Occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch
- Use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects
Environment
- Working conditions encountered in this job include those found in a typical office setting as well as an indoor/outdoor manufacturing setting which includes exposure to outside weather conditions, work at elevated heights, climbing of stairs and ladders, and physical manipulation of tools and mechanical equipment.
- This job demands the use of typical manufacturing personal protective equipment as well as advanced protective equipment as needed.
