Description
- Aid teachers with activities including Career Exploration and homework assignments.
- Support teachers in small group sessions covering various subjects and career exploration topics.
- Collaborate with PD, teachers, and team to plan and implement educational activities.
- Participate in scheduled meetings before students arrive.
- Foster a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment.
- Supervise and monitor students during program hours, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Implement positive behavioral interventions as needed.
- Work with PD, teachers, and other staff to create and maintain a structured daily schedule.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and address any concerns.
- Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions as required.
- Assist with program administrative tasks, such as maintaining attendance records and preparing materials.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in education or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of various subjects and ability to provide academic support in math, science, English, and other core subjects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to students, parents, and staff members.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate and inspire students.
- Ability to create and implement engaging educational activities that align with program goals and objectives.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Scheduled Shift
Monday - Thursday: 2:30pm-6:30pm
Occasional Fridays: 10am-2pm
