About the role

Performs cardiac diagnostic procedures including Echocardiograms, Trans-Esophageal Echo and Stress Echos. Ensures high quality tests are performed and reports are properly forwarded into Physician reading station and charges are done on a daily basis. Responsible for the clinical oversight for the echo exam quality, MD reporting process and PI reporting of MD reading data.

Responsibilities

• Examines requisition, obtains history, reviews patient chart to verify procedure requested, patient's condition and special instructions for the exam.
• Ensures adequate clinical history is available to correlate with procedure requested.
• Proficient in the use of the Radiology Information System.
• Maintains knowledge in physics, anatomy, techniques, medical terminology and aseptic technique.
• Supervises and teaches procedures to students and completes clinical evaluation forms.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of accredited school of ultrasound or echocardiography.
• 1 year of experience.
• Registry eligible and BLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• RDMS or RDCS certification.
