Lead DSP- Children's Day Center
About the role
RISE is seeking a full-time Lead Direct Support Professional (DSP) for our Children's Day Program Center in Queen Creek, AZ. This position involves working with children with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities, including program supervisory, administrative, and transportation responsibilities, as well as direct-care requirements.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and train staff in providing quality care and support to children with disabilities.
- Assist children with daily activities and ensure safety measures are followed.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the program, including scheduling, budget management, and compliance with state regulations.
- Transport children to and from various locations as needed.
- Communicate effectively with families, other professionals, and community partners to support the well-being of the children and their families.
Requirements
- A desire, interest, and experience in working with people with disabilities or special needs.
- The ability to physically assist people as needed, including lifting and/or physically supporting them with or without assistance from another person.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong multi-tasking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- A self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- A detail-oriented approach and adherence to state and organizational rules and policies.
Qualifications
- Must be over 21 years old to drive a RISE vehicle with a valid Arizona driver's license and meet RISE's insurance agency requirements.
- Must successfully complete a background check, driving record check, and obtain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Additional Candidacy Requirements
- Specific language abilities (other than English) may be required to meet the needs of the people/families receiving support and demonstrate a knowledge of and respect for cultural differences.
