Lead Driver

Responsibilities

• Oversight of drivers and daily operations of the APC transportation department
• Create and manage schedules and routes
• Train new hires and ensure all drivers complete required trainings
• Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback
• Cookordination with the intake department for new consumers, and with APC programs for existing consumers, to set up transportation
• Maintain vehicle maintenance logs and items required by state and local laws
• Schedule all inspections and maintenance for the fleet
• Drive consumers to and from Adult Partial Care programs
• Transport consumers scheduled for medication visits and psychiatric evaluations, as needed
• Organize and keep records regarding transportation schedule and mileage
• Adequately adhere to all safety regulations, including mandatory fastening of seatbelts of driver and all passengers
• Maintain vehicle safety and cleanliness
• Complete supervisions for drivers per agency standards
• Collaborate with program coordinators to ensure transportation is scheduled for clients scheduled on scheduled days

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalent
• A valid driver’s license in good standing
• A good driving record verifiable with the state
• The ability to drive a 15 passenger van
• A CDL is preferred
