About the Role
Adams Clinical is a rapidly growing research site network specializing in late-phase industry-sponsored trials of novel treatments for psychiatric and neurological conditions. We are seeking a per diem Psychedelic Dosing Monitor/Therapist for clinical trials focused on psychedelic research for individuals with depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders at one or more of our research site locations. Willingness to travel between regional sites (Watertown and Boston; Harlem and Bronx) is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Lead Study Therapist in psychedelic clinical trials for depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders.
- Complete study-sponsored therapist training and Adams Clinical site-specific training requirements.
- Provide support to participants throughout the clinical trial in alignment with the study protocol and training guidelines.
- Collaborate with clinicians and site staff managing participant participation in the study.
- Conduct a majority of participant appointments in person at research site locations, with a portion conducted remotely.
- Adhere to ICH-GCP standards and protocol requirements, ensuring accurate observation, documentation, and reporting of dosing sessions.
- Perform administrative tasks, onboard training, and other study-related responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Licensed mental health professional in Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, or Texas (e.g., PsyD, PhD, LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LMFT), with the ability to provide psychotherapy in compliance with state regulations.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate observation, documentation, and reporting of dosing sessions.
- Experience working with individuals with depression, anxiety, or other mood disorders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an interest in advancing mental health care in a clinical research setting.
- Ability to meet fixed scheduling expectations, including consistent on-site availability.
- Flexibility and responsiveness to shifting scheduling needs.
- Final candidate must be approved by both Adams Clinical and the study sponsor.
Schedule
This is a per diem, as-needed position, with work hours based on study enrollment, participant availability, and trial timelines. Therapists should anticipate approximately 2-3 days per week of direct participant-facing responsibilities, including:
- Pre-dose preparation
- Real-time monitoring during psychedelic dosing sessions
- Post-dose follow-up sessions
The exact schedule will vary based on study volume, participant availability, and internal scheduling priorities.

$60.00 - $70.00 per hour
