About the role
As a Lead Dockworker at RXO, you will guide a team of dockworkers in daily operations, ensuring freight is handled safely, efficiently, and accurately. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our warehouse and supporting your team’s growth and success.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the dock team in loading and unloading freight using manual and powered equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts
- Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure productivity, accuracy, and safety standards are met
- Train team members on proper equipment use, safety procedures, and best practices
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers, drivers, and warehouse staff to coordinate freight movement
- Organize freight on the dock according to destination and priority, ensuring accurate handling and documentation
- Maintain inventory levels and assist with merchandise reconciliation
- Keep the dock clean, safe, and well-stocked with tools and supplies
- Identify and resolve operational challenges, addressing performance issues as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of warehouse experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Microsoft Office experience and proficiency
- Availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Solid leadership skills; able to coach and mentor team members
- Experience in a supervisory role
- Solid math skills and analytical ability
