Lead Dockworker

About the role

As a Lead Dockworker at RXO, you will guide a team of dockworkers in daily operations, ensuring freight is handled safely, efficiently, and accurately. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our warehouse and supporting your team’s growth and success.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the dock team in loading and unloading freight using manual and powered equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts
• Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure productivity, accuracy, and safety standards are met
• Train team members on proper equipment use, safety procedures, and best practices
• Communicate clearly with dispatchers, drivers, and warehouse staff to coordinate freight movement
• Organize freight on the dock according to destination and priority, ensuring accurate handling and documentation
• Maintain inventory levels and assist with merchandise reconciliation
• Keep the dock clean, safe, and well-stocked with tools and supplies
• Identify and resolve operational challenges, addressing performance issues as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of warehouse experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Microsoft Office experience and proficiency
• Availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Solid leadership skills; able to coach and mentor team members
• Experience in a supervisory role
• Solid math skills and analytical ability
