Lead Developer- AI/ML Experience

About the role

The Opportunity We are seeking a hands-on Lead Developer who can guide technical development while continuing to build. This person will help strengthen our platform architecture, support the development team, and bring practical AI and machine-learning capabilities into the OUInvest user experience. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys early-stage startups, solving real customer problems, and helping shape a product from the ground up.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the technical development and continued improvement of the OUInvest platform
• Translate product requirements and Figma designs into scalable features
• Guide developers through architecture decisions, code reviews, and technical priorities
• Collaborate with product, UX/UI, analytics, and curriculum teams
• Improve platform performance, security, testing, and documentation
• Support frontend, backend, database, and third-party API integrations
• Help develop AI-powered features such as personalized learning paths, community matching, financial-term explanations, and content recommendations
• Evaluate when to use machine-learning models, APIs, retrieval systems, or rule-based solutions
• Establish development standards and support reliable product releases
• Communicate technical risks, tradeoffs, and timelines in plain language

What We’re Looking For

• Professional full-stack software-development experience
• Experience leading projects, mentoring developers, or making technical architecture decisions
• Proficiency with modern frontend and backend technologies
• Experience working with databases, APIs, authentication, and cloud environments
• Practical experience with AI or machine learning, including model APIs, recommendation systems, natural-language processing, or data pipelines
• Familiarity with responsible AI, data privacy, security, and model-output evaluation
• Experience with AWS, GitHub, CI/CD, analytics tools, or fintech products is a plus
• Strong communication, ownership, and problem-solving skills
• Interest in financial inclusion and building technology with measurable community impact
