Lead Decision Scientist - Product Analytics
About the role
The Product Analytics team at Aetna, a CVS Health company, engages with various functional teams to enhance insurance products and assist sales teams in product selection. Lead Decision Scientists lead cross-functional initiatives, define impactful product roadmaps, and collaborate with the Data Science team to implement solutions. They structure business problems into analytics frameworks, translate data insights into actionable recommendations, and manage the implementation of these solutions.
Responsibilities
- Engage with multiple business functions to drive product improvements and sales strategies
- Structure ambiguous business problems into analytics frameworks
- Translate business questions into actionable recommendations for decision-making
- Evaluate the business impact of proposed decisions
- Prioritize possible actions based on value, feasibility, and risk
- Communicate technical concepts and implications to business partners and business drivers to data science partners
- Manage stakeholder relationships and align on business goals
- Identify and mitigate potential project risks
- Present business recommendations in executive-ready stories
Requirements
- 4+ years of business experience leading mid-scale initiatives with proven business impact
- 7+ years total business experience
- 2+ years of stakeholder management experience
- 4+ years of experience in strategy consulting or similar roles in large companies
- Experience working with data using SQL and Python
- Ability to review analytical methods and outputs
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years in a consulting firm using data to solve client engagement issues
- Experience in collecting user requirements and translating them into functional requirements for data analytics solutions
- Experience leading projects with Agile methodologies
- Healthcare sector experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in quantitative field, or equivalent combination of formal education and experience
- Master's degree in quantitative field or MBA preferred
Pay
The typical pay range for this role is $142,140.00 - $284,280.00. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors.
