About the role
As a Lead Data Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable and efficient data platforms that support our business needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that data pipelines are reliable, secure, and optimized for performance.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement data architectures that meet business requirements and technical constraints.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines using modern data engineering tools and frameworks.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to integrate data from various sources into the platform.
- Ensure data quality and integrity through automated testing and monitoring.
- Optimize data processing workflows to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Document and communicate technical designs and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and NoSQL databases.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, database design, and SQL.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Qualifications
- Experience working with distributed systems and microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of machine learning and data analytics tools.
- Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
