Responsibilities
- Architectural Leadership: Lead the technical direction of the data engineering function, including providing input on infrastructure, warehousing, and tooling.
- Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest vast amounts of financial and user data from various sources into our data warehouse.
- Infrastructure Optimization: Leverage and optimize VettaFi’s data warehouse to support efficient querying and analytics.
- Data Quality & Governance: Implement automated monitoring, alerting, and testing to ensure data accuracy, freshness, and consistency.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with the platform team to productionalize models and integrate data streams into user-facing products.
- Ideate and advocate for projects involving novel applications of VettaFi’s data.
- Mentorship: Review and approve pull requests, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior engineers to elevate the team’s technical proficiency.
Requirements
- A degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Systems.
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in data engineering, backend software engineering, or a related field.
- Expert-level SQL: Ability to write complex, highly optimized queries.
- Strong Python: Proficiency in writing robust, production-grade code for data orchestration.
- Experience with cloud data warehouses such as AWS Redshift and orchestration tools.
- Well-practiced communication skills, capable of translating complex architectural concepts into non-technical terms for stakeholders.
- A hands-on self-starter who takes ownership of the platform’s reliability.
- Strong people leadership experience with a collaborative team-oriented approach; you build others up and prioritize the team's success over personal accolades.

Pay
Salary Range: $125,000/year - $140,000K/year USD
