About the role

Lead Data Conversion & ETL Specialist - Level III position requiring 13+ years total experience, with at least 2 years of lead experience and prior government client experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform source system metadata analysis, documentation, and validation.
• Develop source-to-target data mapping.
• Conduct data profiling and define data cleansing rules.
• Gather, analyze, document, and validate To-Be system data requirements.
• Define data synchronization and bridging requirements.
• Execute data conversion quality assurance testing.
• Write and tune UNIX shell scripts for performance during data loads and transformations.
• Manage full SDLC phases (requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment) for data conversion/data warehouse projects.
• Develop and execute ETL processes using industry-standard tools or scripting approaches (Informatica, T-SQL, PL/SQL, PL/pgSQL).
• Write SQL statements and queries against Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL.
• Support QA/UAT for data conversion testing.
• Present data findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• 13+ years total work experience.
• 2+ years of lead experience.
• Prior government client experience (nice to have).
• More than seven years experience on complex projects with 2+ years in a leadership role as a Specialist.
• More than seven years working on data conversion/data warehouse projects (including metadata analysis, mapping, profiling, cleansing, requirements gathering, synchronization, QA testing).
• More than seven years experience across full SDLC for data conversion/data warehouse projects.
• Proficiency writing SQL against Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL.
• Experience developing/executing ETL processes using Informatica, T-SQL, PL/SQL, PL/pgSQL or similar scripting.
• UNIX shell scripting with performance tuning.

Qualifications

• Three or more years experience in government or public sector data systems.
• Experience with data conversion/migration projects, especially legacy-to-modern system transitions.
• Strong understanding of data warehouse/DataMart concepts (staging, dimensional modeling, etc.).
• Five or more years experience with Data Quality processes (profiling, cleansing, standardization, match and merge).
• Working knowledge of Python for data processing or automation scripts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
