Lead Cybersecurity Architect

The ideal candidate will function as a lead security professional responsible for the technical architecture of Allegion’s global security program while also contributing to the full life cycle management and delivery of IT security operations and projects across the Allegion enterprise. This role requires operating in a blended environment of business and technical personnel of various levels across the global organization and engaging with cross-functional teams such as IT infrastructure, global technology services, enterprise applications, regional IT teams, software development teams, product engineering, and legal.

Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee implementation of enterprise information security architectures and solutions within the security organization, software development teams, and business solution integration and support teams
  • Develop and drive the architecture for Zero Trust initiatives
  • Collaborate with the AI team and establish security architectures and governance guardrails for enterprise adoption of AI
  • Evaluate and plan for emerging threats and defenses, including evaluating new technologies
  • Help establish, create, develop, and maintain the security team's AI/automation operating system
  • Provide technical leadership on the evaluation, selection, design, installation, and administration of IT products and solutions with security features/functions/requirements
  • Drive coordination and collaboration with 3rd party service providers to accomplish IT security services and operations goals
  • Monitor industry trends and standards for applicability to Allegion’s business strategy and operational maturity
  • Work with internal customers to interpret, clarify, and implement change requests on security-related solutions
  • Troubleshoot security-related issues: firewalls, IDS/IPS, segmented network infrastructure, multiple security zones, etc.
  • Follow migration and implementation plans addressing both tactical and strategic needs
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to early career talent in IT Security and related IT roles
  • Contribute to the achievement and maintenance of compliance regarding PCI, SOX, ISO, HIPAA, ITIL, etc.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of enterprise security systems: IDS/IPS, firewalls, end-point protection & response solutions, log management, SIEM solutions, IAM solutions, content filtering, etc.
  • Working knowledge of computer forensic tools, data loss prevention methods, and disaster recovery methods
  • Working knowledge of networking and communications protocols and methods relative to public, private, and hybrid cloud installations
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical business language
  • Learning agility, including a demonstrated ability to master new business and technical subjects quickly
  • Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to apply technology solutions to solve business problems
  • Ability to quickly build rapport and gain the respect and cooperation of both technology and business leaders
  • Demonstrated experience leading successful project teams through influence without supervisory authority
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently, plan workloads, and deliver on commitments
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and make quality decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Experience managing competing priorities successfully

  • Five or more years of proven work experience evaluating, designing, deploying, and supporting cybersecurity solutions on a global enterprise scale
  • B.S. or B.A. degree, preferably in a technical discipline such as Cybersecurity, Information & Communications Technology (ICT), or related STEM field (relevant work experience considered in the absence of a technical degree)
  • Legally authorized to be employed in the United States without sponsorship for employment visa status

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Industry certifications related to information security, networking, or other relevant disciplines
