Lead Custodian - Jerome HS, 2nd Shift (2:30pm - 11pm)

About the role

To assist the High School Head Custodian by supervising the custodial staff during the evening hours.

Essential Duties

• Cleans an assigned area.
• Complies with all Federal, state and local laws and regulations for the storage, use and disposal of trash, rubbish, waste and hazardous material [OSHA].
• At the direction of the Head Custodian, oversees the custodians on his/her shift in the preparation and clean-up of extra events at the high school.
• Complies with all Federal, state and local laws and regulations for the maintenance, repair and operation of equipment and machines [OSHA].
• Handles emergency situations that might occur. When necessary, contacts Head Custodian or Director of Building, Grounds and Maintenance.
• Aids the Head Custodian in the evaluation of the custodial staff.
• Ensures the safety of students.
• Establishes and maintains cooperative professional relationships.
• Remains free of any alcohol or nonprescription controlled substance and abuse of any prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout employment in the district.
• Exhibits professional behavior, emotional stability, and sound judgment.
• Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, and intelligent human beings.
• Maintains confidentiality and respect for confidential information at all times.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or training and experience that are considered equivalent.
• A knowledge in general repair, painting, cleaning, and operating of cleaning equipment.
• A working knowledge of heating, air conditioning, and ventilating systems.
• An ability to communicate in a courteous manner.
• A neat appearance.
• A competence in supervising others.

Benefits

261 days (251 work days and 10 paid holidays); 8 hours per day, excluding lunch; number of days of vacation, holidays and salary as determined by Negotiated Agreement.

Pay

$22.93/HR. - $27.18HR.

2:30pm - 11pm
