The Pillars of Hermantown is Ebenezer's newest managed senior living community in northern Minnesota, near Duluth and will offer Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care options with 105 total apartments near major crossroads and amongst beautiful scenery. Responsibilities

  • Serves meals and ensures that the dining area is clean and inviting
  • Follows meal serving schedule and procedures
  • Offers resident meal choices and meets resident's specific dietary needs
  • Uses proper safety and sanitation techniques
  • Helps lead shift huddles for each meal
  • Outlines and delegates daily cleaning and production tasks for the Culinary Assistants as needed
  • Creates dining room cleaning schedules and procedures and ensures their completion
  • Ensures all dishes (including flatware, drinkware, etc.) are washed, sanitized, and put away before end of shift
  • Promotes and encourages positive resident relations and satisfaction
  • Welcomes residents and initiates conversation
  • Accommodates tenant/resident requests such as requests for food substitution, change in seating, etc.
  • Listens to complaints and responds appropriately. Refers issues to Culinary Director as appropriate
  • Provides support and direction to Culinary Assistants
  • Oversees proper procedures for dining room set-up for daily meals and special events
  • Checks the daily task sheets for completion. Refers any incomplete tasks to the Chef/Culinary Director
  • Schedules Culinary Assistants
  • Identifies Culinary Assistant performance issues and communicates them to Culinary Director
  • Trains new staff on proper procedures
  • Assists in completing the onboarding and orientation checklists for newly hired Culinary Assistants
  • Listens to complaints and respond appropriately. Refers issues to Culinary Director and Executive Director as appropriate

Required Qualifications

  • Less than 1 year experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year experience

Schedule

  • 80 hours every two weeks
  • Full Time
  • Weekends as needed
