Lead Counsel, Employment, Benefits & Executive Compensation

For our client, we are seeking a Lead Counsel, Employment, Benefits & Executive Compensation to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This role will serve as a trusted legal partner on employment, benefits, and executive compensation matters that shape the organization’s workforce strategy and support its broader business objectives. You will work closely with HR and business leaders to identify risk, provide practical guidance, and help drive compliant solutions in a highly regulated environment. The position also includes oversight of outside counsel and budgets, along with proactive monitoring of legal and regulatory developments affecting the workforce. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $156,800 – $261,300 annually Responsibilities Serve as the lead legal advisor on labor, employment, and employee benefits matters Lead legal support for workforce and executive compensation initiatives Draft and review HR and employment-related agreements and guidelines Collaborate with HR and business leaders to manage risks and implement solutions Oversee outside counsel management and budgets Adapt to changing business needs while managing competing priorities Anticipate legal and regulatory developments impacting the workforce Qualifications JD and active U.S. bar membership 10-15 years of relevant legal experience at a law firm and/or in-house legal department Experience in employment law, HR policy development, and employee benefits Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior leaders Working knowledge of state labor and employment laws Benefits Hybrid work model Up to 25% travel Opportunities for professional development and career growth Access to comprehensive health and wellness programs Engagement in impactful legal compliance initiatives Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
