Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items for dining room service while working efficiently with standardized recipes and presentations.
• Provide excellent service to both guests and team members.
• Avoid food waste and ensure all guests’ special needs are met, including dietary restrictions.
• Estimate food consumption and purchases or requisitions food and kitchen supplies.
• Participate in the provisioning of the island to include loading and unloading of supply vessels, conducting inventories and properly and safely storing items.

Requirements

• Valid Alaska Food Handler’s Certification, ServSafe Managers certificate preferred.
• Knowledge of proper food handling and preparations standards.
• CPR, First Aid certification required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Culinary School graduate or previous experience working as a cook in food service operations, or equivalent combination of experience and training.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new things.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.

Skills

• Proficiency in culinary arts.
• Experience in food service operations.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
