About the role

The Lead Consultant is accountable for expanding existing relationships and delivering high-quality, efficient service to both internal and external clients through the day-to-day account management of an assigned group of client accounts of moderate to high complexity. This role directly contributes to key business outcomes such as revenue growth, client retention, client satisfaction, enhancing AJG's value to clients and prospects, achieving operating/margin targets, and fostering a culture of performance and continuous improvement.

The primary areas of focus include:

  • Supporting the business priorities of Branch Managers, Production team members, and the client service function
  • Independently managing accounts of increasing complexity
  • Growing revenue by counseling clients on additional business opportunities via cross-selling and up-selling
  • Driving the Client Service Cycle
  • Delivering high-quality client service consistent with AJG operational standards and practices
  • Achieving operational productivity and performance metrics consistently

Further responsibilities include:

  • Growing and profitably managing an assigned group of client accounts
  • Building relationships with existing clients by providing exceptional ongoing customer care
  • Seeking referrals from the current client base to solicit new business prospects
  • Securing existing business and actively driving the sale of additional services
  • Acting as a strategic relationship manager and client liaison
  • Providing oversight in the sale of products/services by enhancing sales or services to prospects and existing accounts
  • Offering training, development, and/or supervision to lower-level staff

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of client service and/or claims management experience
  • Appropriate licensing as required
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and using technology to maximize productivity and quality
  • Previous experience in managing client relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Insurance knowledge, particularly P&C (Property & Casualty) experience
  • Solid financial acumen
