About the role
This position is based out of our Minneapolis, MN office.
Responsibilities
- Leads the constructability effort across large programs or multiple projects simultaneously.
- Develops and/or reviews redlines and initial layouts to support field coordination and design validation.
- Establishes enterprise-wide standards, workflows, and tools to ensure consistent application of constructability principles.
- Serves as the top constructability resource for project executives, operations leadership, VDC teams, and prefabrication departments.
- Influences design development during preconstruction and engineering to optimize for safety, schedule, cost, and prefab.
- Directs constructability input during milestone design reviews, targets value design workshops and field coordination planning.
- Supports constructability elements of project pursuits and interviews with clients and partners.
- PARTNERS WITH PREFABRICATION LEADERS TO DRIVE SCALABLE, ASSEMBLY-DRIVEN DESIGN AND MODULAR CONSTRUCTION ACROSS PROJECTS.
- Helps develop prefab scopes, installation workflows, and field logistics that improve quality and labor productivity.
- Ensures feedback loops from field and prefab operations are captured and used to enhance future designs.
- LEADS EFFORTS TO PILOT AND ADOPTS NEW TECHNOLOGIES OR WORKFLOWS THAT ENHANCE CONSTRUCTABILITY, SUCH AS MODEL-TO-FAB SOLUTIONS, AR/VR SITE VALIDATION, OR AI-SUPPORTED CLASH RESOLUTION.
- EVALUATES SOFTWARE AND TOOLSETS FOR CONSTRUCTABILITY EFFICIENCY AND STANDARDIZATION ACROSS TEAMS.
- CONTRIBUTES TO DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION INITIATIVES RELATED TO DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION INTEGRATION.
- LEADS, MENTORS, AND DEVELOPS CONSTRUCTABILITY SPECIALISTS AND SENIOR SPECIALISTS ACROSS BUSINESS UNITS AND PROJECT TEAMS.
- CONDUCTS TRAINING SESSIONS, PUBLISHES GUIDELINES, AND SHARES BEST PRACTICES INTERNALLY AND EXternally.
- SUPPORTS RESOURCE PLANNING AND TEAM DEVELOPMENT TO MEET PROJECT DEMAND.
- CONSISTENTLY MAKES DECISIONS IN AN ATTENTIVE AND SAFE MANNER TO ENSURE THE SAFETY AND HEALTH OF SELF AND OTHERS.
- UTILIZES LEAN CONCEPTS OR OTHER CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT METHODOLOGIES TO ENSURE THE MOST EFFICIENT OPERATIONS, PROCESSES, AND ACTIVITIES.
- PROMOTES AND MODELS THE COMPANY MISSION, VISION AND VALUES THROUGH EXERCISING SOUND AND ETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES, CHAMPIONING ALL ELEMENTS OF DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION (DEI) AND PROVIDING HIGH QUALITY SERVICES AND PROGRAMS AS THEY RELATE TO CLIENTS, SUBCONTRACTORS, CO-WORKERS, SUPPLIERS, AND THE PUBLIC.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, or GED required.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience as an electrician in electrical construction with significant time spent in field leadership, VDC/BIM coordination, or prefabrication.
- Advanced proficiency with Navisworks, BIM 360/ACC, Revizto, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and fabrication modeling platforms.
- Familiarity with Revit a plus.
- Expert level knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), construction methods, and electrical systems installation practices.
- Prior involvement in corporate innovation initiatives, digital transformation, or construction technology adoption.
- Recognized as a subject matter expert in constructability within the electrical or broader construction industry.
- Active involvement in industry forums, trade organizations, or technical working groups.
- Familiarity with Lean Construction, Target Value Design, and model-driven workflows.
- Experience building and managing technical teams and supporting enterprise-level process improvement.
- Strong influence and collaboration skills across all levels—from field teams to executives.
- Proven ability to standardize, scale, and improve constructability and prefab processes.
- Effective communicator and change agent with a mindset for innovation and growth.
- Adaptable, self-motivated, and proactive in seeking out areas for improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
- Skilled at providing constructive feedback and documenting coordination outcomes.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of building codes as they relate to design.
- Strong communication skills and ability to support field electricians.

Pay
$110,000 – $132,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, with the expectation to work specific schedules and hours as identified and communicated by management. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Occasional travel to job sites is required as needed, sometimes requiring overnight trips.
