About the role
Up Closets of Indianapolis is seeking an experienced Lead Closet Installer to oversee our installation team while delivering premium custom storage solutions throughout Central Indiana. We're looking for someone who can not only build exceptional custom storage systems but also lead a team, make sound decisions on the job site, and deliver a five-star customer experience every day.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of installers on residential installation projects
- Coordinate the daily installation plan and job site workflow
- Ensure installations are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule
- Make on-site decisions to resolve installation challenges
- Maintain quality standards on every project
- Install custom closets, pantries, laundry rooms, garages, home offices, mudrooms, and other built-in storage solutions
- Read and interpret installation drawings and design plans
- Perform precision installation, scribing, adjustments, hardware installation, and finish work
- Serve as the primary point of contact on the job site
- Communicate professionally with homeowners throughout the installation
- Answer customer questions and address concerns with confidence and professionalism
- Train and mentor installers
- Lead by example through professionalism, craftsmanship, and work ethic
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Custom closet installation, Cabinet installation, Finish carpentry, Trim carpentry, Built-in furniture installation, Millwork, Residential remodeling, Kitchen & bath installation, Woodworking, Interior finish work
- Previous experience leading or supervising a crew
- Ability to read installation drawings and plans
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs.
- Comfortable using professional installation tools and equipment
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work in residential homes with professionalism and respect
